    Neodymium Cylinder magnets

A diametrically magnetized cylinder magnet is a high-performance neodymium magnet designed with its north and south poles oriented across the diameter instead of along the axis. This unique magnetization creates a consistent radial magnetic field, making diametrically magnetized cylinder magnets especially suitable for rotary systems, sensors, and precision engineering applications where controlled motion and torque are required.

    • High Performance: Made from high-grade neodymium iron boron (NdFeB), offering strong magnetic output and stable performance in demanding engineering environments.

    • Unique Magnetization: Diametrical magnetization provides a uniform radial magnetic field, ideal for rotational and angular sensing applications.

    • Durability: Coated with nickel-copper-nickel, epoxy, or zinc to enhance corrosion resistance and extend service life in industrial conditions.

    • Precision: Available in a wide range of diameters, lengths, and tight tolerances to meet custom engineering and OEM requirements.

    • Temperature Tolerance: Suitable for operation up to 80°C as standard, with higher-temperature grades available for specialized applications.

We sell all grades of neodymium magnets, custom shapes, sizes, and coatings.

Fast Global Shipping: Meet standard air and sea secure packing, More than 10 years of export experience

What Is a Diametrically Magnetized Cylinder Magnet?

diametrically magnetized cylinder magnet has its north and south poles located on the curved cylindrical surface, not on the flat end faces. The magnetic field travels straight across the diameter.

    • Axial magnetization → Poles on circular faces, field along the axis.

    • Diametric magnetization → Poles on curved side, field across the diameter

Engineers choose diametric orientation when they need a magnetic field that interacts with a rotating shaft, a sensor, or an external rotor — where the field must cross the air gap laterally.

    Magnetic Product Description:

neodymium disk magnets are engineered for maximum strength and durability, making them an ideal choice for demanding applications. Composed of a neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) alloy, these magnets provide superior magnetic performance compared to other types of magnets such as ferrite or alnico.

    Custom Manufacturing with Fullzen Technology

        • We understand that engineering buyers face the biggest risk from spec mismatch. That’s why we follow a clear custom workflow:
          1. Requirement review – You provide diameter, length, grade, coating, and working environment
          2. Engineering drawing & simulation – We confirm magnetization tolerance and field strength
          3. Rapid sample – Functional samples ready in 7–12 days for diametric orientations
          4. Production & test – Every batch is gaussmeter-tested for pole position and strength

Our in-house coil winding and magnetizing fixtures ensure consistent diametric orientation — even for small diameters (down to 2mm).

    FAQ

Can you diametrically magnetize a 2mm diameter cylinder?

We have tooling for diameters as small as 2mm with length down to 2mm.

How do I verify the diametric orientation after receiving magnets?

Use a hall probe or a magnetic field viewer. The peak field should be at the curved side’s midpoint, 90° offset from the minimum.

What’s the maximum working temperature for N42SH diametric magnets?

N42SH is rated for 150°C, but derating may apply under strong opposing fields. Contact us for specific simulations.

Do you offer multi-pole diametric magnetization?

Yes — for rotors and encoders we can magnetize 2, 4, or more poles across the diameter.
